Debug Flash player for Linux

Submitted by Falken on

Hurrah ! According to this post by Matt Chotin (a principal Flex engineer at Adobe), a full-blown debug version of the Flash player will arrive for Linux at some point.

This will be great for those of us who mainly write our Flex applications on Linux, becuase the non-debug Flash player silently swallows exceptions- which can lead to the application appearing to stop for no apperent reason, or (worse) mask serious errors.

Currently we still have to rely on a copy of Win32 FireFox running in WINE to access the Windows version of the debug player, which is less than ideal.
