Heart of noise : first two tracks mini review

After a brief fight with the website, I got my advance copied of the first two tracks as part of the physical 'fan box'

Any complaints from the first part of the album that it wasn't Jarre enough with all the collaborations can be instantly dismissed.
This is him on top knob twiddling form, albeit sounding very digital.

Part one is a slow epic wide Bladerunner style piece. Goes well with the bleak snowy weather I have at the moment.

Part two speeds it up a little and underlies the melody with heavier bass beats. I think we have the making of a classic here.

First performance of June Unfolding

Submitted by Wheezy on

This was the amazing opportunity that I was given along with all members of #KEMS Orchestra. Chris @swithinbank wrote an amazing piece as our adopted composer for the season in association with #BBCradio3 & making music.

The piece was formed on June 18th  as part of the #Barnaby celebrations in #Macclesfield celebrating 750years of it having the Market Charter.

24 Hour Party People

If you live in Manchester, have visited Manchester, know someone there or have even the slightest inkling of the effect Manchester had on nigh-on thirty years of music, you need to see 24 Hour Party People which is the more-or-less true history-drama of Factory Records and the Hacienda.

Many thanks to Tim for slipping that into his DVD collection over the last few days, though it did rather make us want to go into town and go back to the Hac., sadly departed though, of course.

Oh well

Back to BItTorrent and FrostWire for my music then.

I was thinking about just getting a Diners Club card to get around VISA stupidity, but I don't think I'll bother now.

Live knob twiddling

Had chance for a proper read of Rebirth's manual now, with the upshot that I can now change patterns and parameters of instruments on the fly.

Listen out for them from about 30 seconds onwards in the attached.

I'm off to see if I can dig out Reason and not make a total hash of the a Code Monkey remix :-) Not that I intend to enter, it's just something to play with.
