Over on his blog, Dale Fraser suggests two possible dates for the upcoming release of ColdFusion 8 - 1st July 2007 or the first week of August.
I'm still plumbing for 15th October '07 though.
Firstly that's when the biggest round of Adobe conferences ever are one - one in the US, one down in Spain and another in Japan.
Secondly, and I think most tellingly, the current beta of the Flex 3 SDK expires then:

I think Adobe will hold back all their new toys (Flex and Flex Builder 3, ColdFusion 8) until the same release date. And they'll want to make a big splash in front of the crowds. And a good way to that is just to bring out new toy after new toy. Works for Apple :-)
Unfortunately someone else has already plumbed those dates in the contest to guess the date :-(
